An Iteration Planning board is used to plan work in the current and future iterations. The first and second columns are locked. The first column contains all work that has been backlogged, the second column shows the work that has been planned in the current iteration (the iteration that would be Current once the board has been published).

You can make any changes to the board, move columns and cards around, and edit their content while the board is not published. When a board is published, it is mapped to a new Initiative that has the same name as the board. You can assign and track work for the new Initiative as with any other Initiative. When you publish a Board, the Board and the Items & Tasks are two views on the same data. Any changes made to the Items in the Initiative are automatically displayed in the corresponding board.

Note: Past iterations are currently not displayed in the board.
